Northern Club to host weekly car boot sales
HUNDREDS of bargain hunters enjoyed a sunny Sunday as the Northern Club hosted their first summer car boot sale.
The sports club, based at Moor Park, have scheduled a series of 14 consecutive weekly sales throughout the summer as they look to raise funds.
Last year the club’s cricketers enjoyed great success reaching four finals – including an appearance on Sky TV.
Cricketer Anthony Coyne, who has been the driving force behind the event, said he had been trying to organise the car boot sales for a number of years.
Mr Coyne said: “Sunday was a steady start for something we hope could grow and grow over the next few months and years.
“I’ve been thinking about doing it for a couple of years now as we have a fantastic facility at the back of the club which none of the cricket teams use on Sunday.
“It’s got access for cars and there is nothing else like it in Crosby so it seemed a good idea.”
For each event gates open at 9am for sellers, and to all visitors from 10am.
Catering and toilet facilities will be provided. The sales finish at 2pm.
Admission is free for visitors wishing to buy. Pitch fees for sellers are £10 for cars and £15 for vans (no HGVs).
